annual Peanut Festival held every year on the 2nd full weekend of October on the courthouse square where the Arcadia Theatre is located. Coming soon after the
summer months, the festival offers plenty of entertainment throughout the week

Vernia, Elmendorf, Kenedy, Karnes City, Pleasanton Poteet, Seguin and
Southerland Springs come and enjoy the activities just outside the Arcadia
Theatre. Just 20 minutes from City Base, the festival attracts many from the
San Antonio area as well.
The Eagle Ford Shale has brought many jobs
and job opportunities to the Floresville and surrounding areas. There are many

The 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) decision relocated Air Force
missions to other installations and brought to an end 95 years of active
military operations at Brooks City Base. Coming soon is a new era of innovation

first time in more than 95 years, Brooks City Base became an open campus as part
of that transition.
